Nothing to eat, drink, smoke or chew for at least 6 hours prior to the exam.

Barium Enema
At least 24 hours prior to the appointment, obtain a Fleet's Prep Kit #3 and follow the enclosed 24 hour instructions. The kit may be obtained from any pharmacy or from our offices at a nominal charge. Nothing to eat, drink, smoke or chew after midnight. If your exam is scheduled in the afternoon, clear liquids only (broth, water or consommÉ) may be consumed up to 6 hours prior to the study.
